Break out with the Blues

photo courtesy of InStyle.com - Marley Shelton

Ah Spring! The world comes bursting to life with a cacophony of sounds and colors. Everything is new again inspiring us to make a change. Make that change by breaking out of the boring brown or black eyeliner - look to break out with the blues!

Blue? Fear not! Blue can be worn by anyone and worn well. Try these ideas:

~For those women whose skin tone is darker try a teal blue or deep turquoise like our Duet Eyeliner in Blue.

~If your eyes tend toward an orangey brown... a cobalt blue will make your eyes pop!

~Blue eyed already? Smoke a lovely mid tone blue like Catch Me Powder in Blue Star close to the lashline, try it with a soft silver eyeliner for extra sparkle.

~For a nice variation try a little blue shadow smudged just under the corner of your lower lashline - try Elain's Electric Eyes in Love Cleo.

~Shift your blue toward the green a little with Indigo Dream Electric Eyes.

Be bold! Try something new and experiment - makeup is a flexible and fun accessory!

~Elain Electric Eyes~

It's that time of year again! Time for all of those Christmas parties and the makeup to go with them. Here is one idea for you, glowing skin, icy eyes and glossy lips.

For this look : use Elain Silver Sparkle Stick all over the lid as a base from lash line to brow. Using Elain Electric Eyes in Love Cleo, place the lighter blue all over the lid. Apply the darker blue in a side V on the outer corner of the eye bringing it through the crease toward the inside of the eye - keep the line clean and tight (picture 2). Under the outer corner of the eye, smudge some of the dark blue shadow into the lashline. Next use a shimmery white shadow (see the Night Fever duo) to highlight the brow, line the lower lashline, and highlight the inner corner of the eye (picture 3).

After you apply your foundation and powder, take your shimmery white shadow and dust it lightly over the top of your cheekbone near the temple (picture 1) to create a subtle, beautiful glow. This is a fun tip especially when you are going to be out at night, the low lights will cast a lovely glow on your skin. It's a nice effect on the neck, chest, and shoulders too!

Wishing you much beauty through this Christmas season!
